Private Excel Courses

The following Excel courses are available for those who wish to commission private in-house courses to be held on their premises or at a hired venue.  We are happy to provide this Excel training in any location and regularly provide these courses interstate.

There are a number motivations which lead clients to book in-house training.  They include:

  •   inclusion in graduate induction programs;
  •   convenience of internal program;
  •   requirement for some customisation to include client materials;
  •   option to schedule training to suit employees' and company's calendars;
  •   workgroup and team development;
  •   availability in client location rather than at public venues.

The following items cover the various matters to be considered in arranging private in-house Excel training.

Excel Courses Available for In-house Presentation
Financial Analysis Certificate (FAC)
Financial Analysis Systems Certificate (FAS)
Charting Master Class (CMC)
Key Topic Lecture Series (KTLS)
Occassional Series - Transition to Office 2007 (TO2007)
Time Commitment
The FAC and the FAS are both 48 hour courses.  They are usually presented over six days in three sessions of two days spread out over one to two months.  The CMC is an eight hour Excel course on charting which is presented on a single day.  The KTLS and TO2007 are ½-day sessions and arranged at times to suit the client.
Subject to availability, the courses can be booked for any eight hour period between 8.00am and 9.00pm on weekdays and 9.00am and 5.00pm on weekends.
Costs and Inclusions
Standard course fees cover the presenter, or presenters depending upon cohort size, the presenter's PC, presenter's materials, student materials and media.  Venue, equipment and meals are the responsibility of the client.  Course fees will be quoted upon enquiry.
Terms are for settlement in full prior to commencement.
Training Venue
The training venue is the responsibility of the client.  The client may opt to use their own facilities, or book external facilities.  The facility should consist of a training room and a break-out area for meals and breaks.
The training room may be any suitably sized room that can accommodate the booked students together with the computer equipment discussed below.
We can assist with the hire of a suitable venue at extra cost, if required.
Equipment Requirements
The facility should provide one personal computer, either desktop or notebook, for each student enrolled.  It is not necessary that the computers be either networked or have access to a printer.
Data projection facilities are required for the presentation of this course as it improves the delivery of the material, especially with larger groups.  The training room should include a large whiteboard.
We can assist with the hire of suitable notebooks with the required software and/or a data projector at an extra cost, if required.
Software Requirements
The computers to be used by the students for the Excel training should have Windows NT, XP or Vista correctly installed and have any language version of Excel 97 or later correctly installed, with all relevant service patches applied.
It is preferable that all computers have the same version of Excel installed, however, we have experience at working in environments with mixed versions and mixed language versions.  If we will be working with non-English language versions or a mixture of English and non-English language versions, we would appreciate advance notice, although the materials will work suitably with some minor exceptions in all language versions.
Meals & Refreshments
 Meals (if they are to be included) and refreshments are the responsibility of the client.  It is recommended that they be provided to keep the attendees together in the break-out room during breaks and avoid distractions to the running of the courses and time lost if they have to find meals themselves.
We can assist with the provision of catering at an extra cost, if required.
Certificates & Assessment
An optional assessment may be undertaken at the end of the course and will involve allocating four to five hours of the final day to this process.  The students work in groups to solve workshop type problems.  A grade is awarded to each group and shared by the participants in that group.  Grades are awarded at Pass, Credit, Distinction and High Distinction grades.
For courses booked through Clarkson ITT, the certificates for completion or grade are issued by Clarkson ITT and may be co-branded with the client by prior arrangement.  For courses booked through UTS, the certificates are awarded by UTS.
Revision for Free
Students who have been paid for by a client in any one course are not charged for again if they choose to attend some or all of the sessions of that course when offered again privately at that client.  A fee will be charged to upgrade the notes so that the student has the same notes as are being used by the rest of the class, if they request it.
Ongoing Support
We do not have a specific policy on ongoing support.  However, any politely phrased request from a past student which is based on materials taught or related material will receive a response, although this may be delayed, depending upon our commitments.  This can be very important in assisting the student to bed down their newly won knowledge.
We generally limit the advice and assistance however, to the subject areas covered in the course.  For instance, we do not offer macro or VBA support for modelling students and vice versa.
